Creating gradients in SAI by HarunaAkatsuki Creating gradients in SAI by HarunaAkatsuki
A tutorial on how to create gradients in SAI.
Tutorial text ONLY:
-Zoom in 1600%
-Use the BINARY or LEGACY PEN tool to create a pattern. For linear gradients, just make a row or column of boxes a few pixels wide.
-Press CTRL+T to transform the boxes.
-Scale the row of pixels up. Zoom out as you go to make things easier.
-A WINNER IS YOU!

A lot of brushes can actually be found on DA :)  Most are being sold but you can find some free ones by searching for 'blotmap'

In that case, you might want to use the lasso tool

kaaaaaaaay.......um 'click on a control square and drag the mouse to scale up the selected area' ...did that and all it did was make it bigger, no gradient blending power going on. ??????

Select a 1 x 1 pixel with the rectangular select tool and use the paint bucket.

Glad it worked for you!

To the people who it isn't working for, did you try going from 1x2 pixels to 1000 x 2000 or so?

Oh my, the most awesome things are also the easiest ones! This is much better than blending colors with Blur or Water! Thank you so much for this tutorial, I'll use it for my next picture for sure! ^__^

Aww thank you!

An alternate way is just using the airbrush too. Water and Blur show brush strokes and hand jitter too easily.

Nah, airbrush doen't give such a smooth gradient as this method does.
And just as I said, I've used your tutorial for my picture: [link] . It is not too noticeable (except the eyes), but it allowed me to apply a lot of color effects that I couldn't made otherwise. Once again, thank you very for your tutorial. :D
